About
I've spent much of my life on the water. As a child, I fished the lakes and ponds of Central Florida, then the coastal beaches of Costa Rica where my family lived and farmed. After a return to Florida, my focus turned to the deeper reaches of the Everglades National Park, an angling wonderland I've explored for nearly three decades, often by my lonesome. Its tea-stained waters, mangrove-lined corridors and sunlit bays are woven through my heart.
A love affair with angling also sparked a serious case of wanderlust. I’ve chased brown trout in Vermont and New Hampshire, largemouth bass throughout the southeastern U.S., yellowfin tuna in Mexico, snook in Costa Rica, sailfish in the Florida Keys, bonefish in the Bahamas, cutthroats and steelhead in Canada, striped bass in the coastal American northeast, and more — all in the company of good friends. This enduring passion, coupled with my career as a Creative Director, made for a natural transition into fine art.
My artistic approach is a layered and time-consuming blend of classic and contemporary techniques. Each print begins with a freehand sketch, followed by painting with a drawing tablet, proprietary filters, and extensive color correction. Though I’ve worked extensively with traditional media like graphite pencils, oils, pastels and watercolors, I most enjoy the versatility and painterly results of a digital canvas.
My art is inspired by preferences and passions, most notably game fish and the invariably beautiful places where they are found. Most of the prints offered here are based on personal experiences and indelible moments; there is deep magic in a memory captured on canvas.
